I recently started hosting some private Minecraft servers for friends and agreed that I would cover the cost of operating the server but they would have to share resource time on one of my existing personal servers and shut it off when they weren’t using it. Obviously I still wanted to allow them to play whenever they wanted so I needed a bot they could use to start up and shut down the server at will. We also wanted the ability to run multiple different servers and modpacks so it gained the ability to do that sort of thing too. This project is really simple, it just uses go and bash as the glue to allow an arbitrary user from a Discord channel to start or stop a Minecraft server.
git clone https://git.coltondrg.com/mcsm.git cd mcsm go get github.com/bwmarrin/discordgo go build
This will produce binary
Usage should be pretty self-explanatory but I’ll add instructions here later (maybe)
